We aim to contribute to regional development and revitalization through engagement with local communities. In addition, we are promoting initiatives to advance the life sciences industry through education and academic support.
At Takara Bio, we introduce cutting-edge biotechnology and hold bio-education classes to create opportunities for children to take an interest in biotechnology, thereby fostering the future of the bio industry.
Bio Classes for Elementary School Students
We conducted bio classes for local elementary school students. Through experiments such as extracting DNA from fruits, students were able to experience biotechnology in a familiar way and gain an understanding of how it helps in studying the mechanisms of life. These activities enabled children to appreciate the fascination of biotechnology.
Initiatives for High School Students
In biotechnology company research programs for high school students, we introduced state-of-the-art PCR technology. Students showed interest in learning that PCR, widely known for its use in COVID-19 testing, is also broadly applied in various fields such as norovirus detection and food safety testing.
Workshops for University Students
For university students, we conducted public relations exercises aimed at communicating biotechnology in an easy-to-understand manner. Through group work and discussions, students practiced writing with a clear awareness of their audience.
