Kusatsu/Shiga, Japan – February 2, 2016 –  Center for Gene and Cell Processing (Kusatsu city, Shiga, Japan), the core of CDMO business of Takara Bio, won the 2016 Facility of the Year Awards Category Winner for Facility Integration run by International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering, Inc. (ISPE).

 

The Facility of the Year Awards program was founded in 2005, and has awarded to facilities which are designed, constructed, and operated based on outstanding innovative technology in the fields of manufacturing and development of pharmaceutical agents and medical devices. Takara Bio, Center for Gene and Cell Processing won the 2016 Facility of the Year Awards Category Winner for Facility Integration which is one of 6 category awards. The reason for the winning is that the center has a reputation in terms of design, operation, and environment as a facility to manufacture a variety of regenerative medicine products necessary for CDMO business in a safe and effective manner.

 

Takara Bio will continuously expand CDMO business which supports manufacturing and development of regenerative medical products and the business for manufacturing investigational new drugs for gene therapy in clinical development in Takara Bio, in the center for gene and cell processing
