Otsu/Shiga, Japan – July 23, 2015 -  Takara Bio Inc. announced that it will launch a high-performance real-time PCR (RT-PCR) system “Thermal Cycler Dice® Real Time System III”, at the end of September 2015. This system allows for rapid gene amplification and improved operability compared to existing systems.

RT-PCR is a technique for real-time detection of DNA amplified by PCR, and enables rapid genetic analysis with high accuracy. Nowadays, RT-PCR is used in a wide range of fields including food inspection, clinical examination, and personal genetic analysis. Takara Bio launched a PCR system first in Japan in 1988. Since then, it has expanded lineup of PCR systems to satisfy diversified needs of customers. Thermal Cycler Dice Real Time System III has a user-friendly interface which improves its operability in many fields. Users can input information on the touch panel either in English or Japanese. Time to detect amplified DNA is almost halved compared to existing system. Together with this system, Takara Bio wil lauche PCR reagents optimized for the system. Takara Bio supports customers’ research activities with its cutting-edge technologies backed by abundant experiences accumulated in this field.

Takara Bio is focusing on development of new products relating to PCR technology, and expansion of its share in this field.
