Notice of Increase in Capital of Subsidiary
This is to notify that Takara Bio Inc. (president & CEO: Ikunoshin Kato, Ph.D.) increased the capital of a subsidiary which was set up in the U.S. to acquire Clontech operations (announced on July 1, 2005) at a board of directors meeting held on July 29, 2005.

To acquire Clontech operations (shares of Clontech Laboratories Inc. and assets related to such operations), we have decided to increase capital of a subsidiary which we set up in the U.S.
