New pre-spotted DNA microarrays for pharmacokinetic studies in rat and for studies on human hematopoietic stem cells, to go on sale

The Biomedical Group of Takara Shuzo Co., Ltd. will make a sale of new DNA microarray chips for pharmacokinetic studies in rat and for researches on human hematopoietic stem cells as new products of "IntelliGene®" CHIP.

Rat is one of very useful experimental animals, and is widely used to examine toxicity, efficacy, and metabolism of developing drugs. One of the developed DNA chips, named IntelliGene® Rat Toxicology CHIP, contains micro-spots of DNA fragments from 395 kinds of genes including various cytochrome P450 genes. It can serve as a helpful tool to study metabolic responses of rats to drugs.

Contents of another IntelliGene® DNA chip, named IntelliGene® Human Stem Cell CHIP, are 374 kinds of genes which are selected from ones expressed in human hematopoietic stem cells. This DNA chip can be a useful tool to study regenerative therapy in hematopoietic system.

The Biomedical Group will continue to develop DNA chips rich in content to serve researchers in medical and biological fields.
