The Ex Taq Buffer is optimized for PCR with higher yields and more accurate amplification, while the LA PCR Buffer II is further optimized for longer extension in addition to the above features of the Ex Taq Buffer.

It is recommended to use each for the following specific purposes: The Ex Taq Buffer and TaKaRa Ex Taqcan be used when higher efficiency and accuracy are demanded in amplifications of up to 20 kbp of DNA or up to 10 kbp of human genomic DNA fragments. On the other hand, the combination of the LA PCR Buffer II and TaKaRa LA Taq is effective for the amplification of DNA up to 35 kbp or human genomic DNA fragments up to 20 kbp.
