Enzyme amount

Although you are recommended to use 2.5 units of TaKaRa Ex Taq or TaKaRa LA Taq in a

50 reaction for which the LA PCR Kit Ver. 2.1 is designed, you may change the amount used

for the optimum reaction condition. The following factors should be taken into consideration; the

quantity or complexity of template DNA and the length of amplified DNA fragment.  

In the case of excess enzyme, non-specific reactions may occur which may result in a diffuse

smear upon electrophoresis. The efficiency of amplification may be diminished when the

enzyme concentration is low.
